Nigeria-Turkey Business Council To Host DAİB High-Level Furniture / Furniture Materials Marketing Delegation in Abuja (30th November – 3rd December 2026)

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria Türkiye Business Council (NTBC), in association with the Eastern Anatolian Exporters Association (DAİB), will host a high-level B2B furniture and materials delegation from the 30th of November to 3rd December 2026, with a B2B meeting taking place at the Ladi Kwali Hall (Ballroom), Abuja Continental Hotel, Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria on the 1st December 2026.

The event aims to bridge the gap between Türkiye’s status as the world’s 7th largest furniture exporter and Nigeria’s rapidly growing furniture market. The delegation focuses on furniture and furniture materials marketing, offering a strategic platform for Turkish exporters and Nigerian buyers to connect, explore partnerships, and capitalize on Nigeria’s growing furniture market opportunity.

Nigeria’s furniture market represents one of Africa’s most compelling growth opportunities, with a market valued at approximately USD 3.3 billion in 2025 and projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.4% through 2031. Meanwhile, Türkiye ranks as the world’s 7th largest furniture exporter, with USD 4.6 billion in net furniture exports in 2025. Yet Turkish furniture exports to Nigeria remain a fraction of their potential.

The B2B Business Delegation to Abuja (30th  November-3rd December 2026) offers Turkish exporters and Nigerian buyers a direct platform to bridge this gap. This delegation is designed to facilitate concrete business connections in the furniture and furniture materials sector.

This business mission is organized as a Furniture and Furniture Materials Marketing Activity, centered on B2B meetings, business matchmaking, export development, and the establishment of lasting business connections between Turkish and Nigerian companies.

The delegation is led by Mr. Sinan ATA, Department Manager of International Relations at the Eastern Anatolian Exporters Association (DAİB), accompanied by Mr. Doğan Can ÖZCAN and Mr. Mehmet Furkan ATICI, both Project Specialists at DAİB, alongside fourteen (14) Turkish business representatives from companies operating in the furniture and related sectors. Together, they will participate in B2B meetings and business matchmaking activities throughout the visit

As Africa’s largest consumer market, Nigeria’s furniture and home interiors sector presents a significant opportunity for international suppliers. While local manufacturing accounts for a substantial share of the market, high-end and specialized furniture categories remain heavily import-dependent.

Nigeria’s furniture-related imports far exceed its exports, creating a persistent trade gap that foreign suppliers are well positioned to fill. Nigeria’s membership in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) provides access to a preferential trade market of 1.3 billion people across the continent. For Turkish businesses, establishing operations in Nigeria offers a strategic gateway to wider African markets.

Notably, the majority of Nigeria’s wooden furniture imports originate from a single source market, the Chinese market, signaling significant room for supplier diversification and creating a clear opening for Turkish manufacturers to establish a competitive presence.

Turkish furniture is recognized for its cost-performance ratio and design flexibility — particularly in modular furniture and hospitality contract projects. These strengths align directly with Nigeria’s fastest-growing segments: urban residential furniture and commercial/hospitality projects.

Following the signed MOUs between both governments, the Nigeria-Türkiye relationship is at an inflection point with bilateral trade projected to grow five-fold by 2026, and NTBC actively facilitating business connections across sectors, the timing for this furniture-focused delegation is strategic.
As the Chairman of the council, Dele Kelvin Oye Esq. emphasizes, the continual development of the blossoming trade, economic and business partnership between both countries is very important.
