As part of an ongoing multi-state strategic engagement across Kaduna, Jigawa, and Kano States, H. E. Mr. Mehmet Poroy, Türkiye Ambassador to Nigeria, accompanied by Hon. Dele Kelvin Oye Esq., Chairman of the Nigeria-Türkiye Business Council (NTBC), undertook a high-level courtesy visit to key stakeholders in Kano State to advance bilateral economic cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Kano, H. E. Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside engagements with five Honourable Commissioners. The delegation also visited the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, where they were received by the President, Alh. Usman Hassan Darma, in the company of distinguished members of the Chamber.
Deliberations at KACCIMA focused on unlocking high-impact investment opportunities across strategic sectors, including agriculture, agro-processing, textiles, manufacturing, and commerce, areas in which Kano retains a strong comparative advantage as a historic commercial hub.
Discussions further explored pathways to strengthen private sector collaboration, promote export-oriented enterprises, and facilitate technology transfer and skills development between Nigerian and Turkish businesses.
Building on the successful engagements in Kaduna, the Kano visit further underscores the shared commitment of both countries to deepen trade, stimulate investment flows, and enhance industrial cooperation across Northern Nigeria.
The second day of engagements in Kano marks a significant milestone in advancing Nigeria–Türkiye economic relations, fostering regional development, and creating sustainable, mutually beneficial opportunities for businesses in both countries.
