On Thursday, 12th March 2026, the Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC) paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development (FMLD) in Abuja.
The visit focused on strengthening institutional engagement and exploring strategic collaborations to modernize Nigeria’s livestock sector.
Led by Hon. Dele Kelvin Oye, Esq., Chairman NTBC, and accompanied by Ms. Uche Osoka, Director General NTBC and other esteemed members of the council the delegation met with H.E. Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, and senior Ministry officials.
Discussions revolved around opportunities in:
- Livestock breeding & genetic improvement
- Dairy production & processing
- Feed & fodder systems
- Veterinary services & vaccine development
- Cold-chain logistics & livestock processing
- Leather & by-product value chains
During the meeting, the NTBC delegation also presented and discussed the Council’s report from the Türkiye–Nigeria Government-to-Business Roundtable held on the sidelines of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR state visit to Turkiye on 28th January 2026 at the JW Marriott Hotel, Ankara, Türkiye.
The report highlighted key outcomes from the roundtable, including priority investment areas and opportunities for enhanced cooperation between government institutions and private sector stakeholders, including Nigeria’s livestock development agenda.
The visit concluded with an agreement on strategic collaboration to transform Nigeria’s livestock sector, followed by a photo session to commemorate the visit.
